Association of Arterial Stiffness Indices with Framingham Cardiovascular Disease Risk Score

چکیده
Purpose: The new non-invasive arterial stiffness indices, velocity pulse index (AVI) and pressure volume (API) are known to be associated with cardiovascular disease risk. present study aimed examine the “dose-response” associations between AVI, API Framingham risk score (FCVRS). Methods: This survey included individuals indices collected at age 18 years older. We used Pearson’s correlation coefficients multivariate linear analyses evaluate of AVI other variables. FCVRS were analyzed by restrictive cubic spline. Results: 4311 people in full population, including 2091 males 2220 females. In restricted spline regression models, or had significant U-shaped FCVRS, lowest was 8 units units, respectively. After increased 12 rapidly until 27 relatively flat afterward. For API, results similar. When 23 rapidly, after 52 flat. Conclusions: FCVRS. may provide a perspective for early treatment lifestyle modifications prevent diseases.

Association between novel arterial stiffness indices and risk factors of cardiovascular disease
BACKGROUND Prevention and early detection of arterial stiffness are required to avoid severe cardiovascular events. Recently, new noninvasive arterial stiffness indices, the arterial pressure volume index (API) and the arterial velocity pulse index (AVI), have been developed. The purpose of this study was to examine the clinical validity of these new indices by investigating the association bet...
متن کاملFramingham Risk Score with Cardiovascular Events in Chronic Kidney Disease
The Framingham Risk Score (FRS) was developed to predict coronary heart disease in various populations, and it tended to under-estimate the risk in chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients. Our objectives were to determine whether FRS was associated with cardiovascular events, and to evaluate the role of new risk markers and echocardiographic parameters when they were added to a FRS model. This st...

OBJECTIVES To evaluate the prevalence of subclinical cardiovascular disease (CVD) and its association with clinical and hormone variables in postmenopausal women from Southern Brazil. STUDY DESIGN Cross-sectional study. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES Coronary artery calcification (CAC) assessed by electron-beam computed tomography. Carotid intima-media thickness (IMT) and atheromatous plaques assess...
متن کاملAssociation between Kidney Function and Framingham Global Cardiovascular Disease Risk Score: A Chinese Longitudinal Study
BACKGROUND Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is generally considered an independent risk factor for cardiovascular disease (CVD) development, but rates in individuals with estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) >60 ml/min/1.73 m(2) are uncertain. The Framingham global CVD risk score (FRS) equation is a widely accepted tool used to predict CVD risk in the general population. The purpose of the p...
متن کاملArterial stiffness and cardiovascular events: the Framingham Heart Study.
BACKGROUND Various measures of arterial stiffness and wave reflection have been proposed as cardiovascular risk markers. Prior studies have not assessed relations of a comprehensive panel of stiffness measures to prognosis in the community. METHODS AND RESULTS We used proportional hazards models to analyze first-onset major cardiovascular disease events (myocardial infarction, unstable angina...
